Mount Ceder Extra Virgin Olive Oil is an exquisitely balanced, delicate to medium style flavourful oil. The 2018 harvest has produced a fruitier oil with prominent flavour notes of olive leaf, mint and fresh green apples blended with tropical fruit. Enjoy this beautiful Extra Virgin Olive Oil with fish, salads and drizzled over vegetables. Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil won gold in 2017 and was voted one of the top ten olive oils in South Africa.
History & Culture
Against a backdrop of rugged beauty and dramatic mountains in the Cederberg, our majestic olive grove grows in rocky Karoo soil and is nourished by mountain water flowing from the Grootrivier. Together with cold Karoo nights in winter and the abundance of South African sunshine in summer, all the elements of nature align to bring you the best olives. Over the past 10 years, we have planted 52Ha of genuine Kalamata olive trees with Frantoio trees in every 5th row for cross-pollination. We farm in harmony with nature where natural predators assist us with creating a finely balanced, micro eco-system within the grove.
