History & Culture
Granted in 1692, Babylonstoren is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms in South Africa. Today it features 5-star accommodation in restored 17th century cottages, a garden spa, two farm-to-table restaurants, a winery, olive press and a farm shop. Unique to the property is also a formally laid out, 8-acre fruit and vegetable garden that was inspired by the Company Gardens of the Cape, for provisioning ships that passed by the Cape of Good Hope on voyages to and from the East.
