Tasting Notes

Mardouw’s Extra Virgin Olive Oils are well balanced with fruitiness, slightly bitter and a peppery after taste. Positive attributes such as the fruit of green and ripe olives, olive leaf, artichoke, herbs or fynbos, mint and green almond characterise the oils.
Mardouw’s premium table olives are slowly cured for up to 18 months, in fresh mountain spring water and pure salt. No additives to speed up the process. Slowly cured olives full of flavour as nature intended.

History & Culture

Mardouw Olive Estate took the first step in 2002 when the Verder Family bought the 1000Ha land and planted 50 000 trees, taking advantage of the much-treasured water that comes down from the Langeberg Mountains. The soil together with the Mediterranean climate made for perfect growing conditions for premium quality olives. The olive trees are planted using the latest technology; to grow no more than two meters in height, thus providing easy entry for sunlight onto the blossoms and small olives on the branches. We are proud to produce excellent quality olive oil and table olives with the latest technology.
