History & Culture

Het Vlock Casteel was established in 2006 on the farm Môrester in Riebeek-Kasteel; although the farm has been in the Vlok family’s hands since 1958. Johan Vlok and Johan Jnr run the farming side and Ansie and Ansie Jnr run the Agri-tourism side. Production of oil and table olives is done on the farm and the farm shop sells a vast array of olives, oil and other fruit. The soil and climate are suitable for a large variety of fruit, olives and wine grapes. The olive harvest follows directly on the grape harvest. Exporting is the aim with table grapes, peaches, nectarines and soft citrus in the fruit basket.
